Performing arts

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages welcome to my post of performing arts. I have to say that I don't know anything about them, and I'm not intressed in them at all.

So let's begin..all i know about performing arts is that most of them have at least something to do with dancing, and it's cool and I know that it is extremely hard to performer to succeed in the pressure when in some cases there are hundreds of people in the audience. And of course their physical conditioning is over the top, so they can jump and dance all night long. In my opinion I think that they are some kind of supermen and women, but still I don't really like watching it. Only type of performing arts is in my opinion live concerts :D Don't try to say that it doesen't count because IT IS A FORM OF PERFORMING ARTS!
In example many bands do different kind of "stunts" and they use special effects such as fire and rockets in their show. But as always in any form of performing art there is a chance to get hurt, like James Hetfield got badly burnt in one of the Metallica's live shows when he was standing at a wrong place and fire flames bursted under him. The gig was cancelled and fans were furious, started riots and fights. But in the other hand I'm happy that James made it alive and in is in full health now :) So this about everything I know about performing arts. hope it counts :D

This is a good example of live concerts fire effects

Banksy the street art guy

"Banksy" is an Brittish street artist, who makes different kind of paintings on the walls, ground and actually anywhere he likes them. In my opinion I think that graffitis can be cool and acceptable, IF they really are made properly. And in this case they are extremely well done.

Charlie what have you done? :D

I find this kind of an offensive to some people but still, it is only art :)
Do what the granma tolds ya!

I'm not going to comment this one :D

I wonder why we can't have art like this in Finland, we only have those ugly tags everywhere -.-

Skate shoes

I'm going to show you some of my favourite skate shoes by some very popular brands.
I'm not so into fashion, but I have to do this because the teacher says so.

The first brand is Lakai Footwear, and it is my personal favorite skate shoe brand because they make simple but cool shoes.

These are my favourite Lakai shoes, because they are so bright colored but still simple and cool.

This one is also very cool, I'd buy them if they weren't so expensive.

The next brand is Element

I like elment's skate boards alot, but their shoes are too often weird looking.

These are coolest that I found.

Well I think these are pretty cool thought they look kind of shiny.

And the final one is of course Etnies

I like the colors in these shoes mostly because they are kind of in contrast to each other.

In the end I'm going to say that I haven't had any of these shoes because I don't have so much to waste for shoes that will at the end wore out quickly. I was going to show you airwalk shoes, because they are cheap and very comfortable, but I didn't find any on the internet. I have one of those now and if you can test these, TRY THEM!!

The Call Of Ktulu

This is the eight track of Metallica's album Ride The Lightning. The song is instrumental so there is no vocals on the entire song. It is also one of the longest Metallica songs I know, it lasts 8 minutes and 52 seconds. The first time I heard it was few days ago when I just randomly listened different Metallica songs and when I heard the intro of this song I were in love.

The song begins with a acoustic guitar riff, which lasts almost two minutes. Then the distortion guitars come in and the song "begins". I also love the bass and drums in it, because they adapt to the guitars and all together they make pretty epic and melodic sound. And the most awesome thing in the whole song is the second guitar, which solos for few minutes straight and then makes some fills between "silence" parts.

The last thing to mention is that the song actually sounds so epic that it could be the song for calling the Cthulhu.
Cthulhu is a mythical creature that was first introduced in a short story called "The call of Cthulhu" in a book called Weird Tales by H. P. Lovecraft. Cthulhu is pictured as a seamonster, bigger than houses and it has tentacles.
This is how Cthulhu is often pictured as. I think it looks badass :)
So in conclusion I'd rate the song 6 out of 5 for it's pure epicness  and awesome sound.

For you guys here is the song :)

Me, my guitar and the rest

So if I haven't made it clear Im going to say that I LOVE music and without it I think life would be sooo booring. So let me tell about me and how I got the idea for grabbing a guitar and start learning.

I were at sixth grade (I think so) when I first started to get interested in playing guitar. Our class was supposed to perform in spring festival at our school. We choosed one, which name I can't remember and started to practice it. First we were told how to play guitar and the chords in the song. They were pretty hard at the time and remember that we arranged that some of us play in example D-chords and some the E-chord, because it was hard to us to change them on the fly. I wasn't able to play all those chords back then but some of my friends were. I wanted to be able to practice the song at home too so I asked for my aunt if I could borrow a guitar from her work ( she worked as a youth leader or so back then). So I got an acoustic guitar for lend and I started to play it more and more. When I had my 14 year birthday card from her the card said: Happy birthday    Btw that guitar is yours now. I were like: NO WAY! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! But after a few months I kind of lost the will to play and I left the guitar to my closet.

Things got serious when my dad asked me if I'd wanted to go for guitar playing lessons. I were excited to finally go on lessons to learn from someone who really knows what he is doing. The teacher is a family friend so I knew him and the lessons were, and are even now at his home. At first he told me the basics of a guitar: the strings and the difference beetween them, the fretboard and how to pick the strings. He started to tell me about notes and teaching them to me and first I were a bit confused, but after some practice I learned them pretty well.

After a year of going on the lessons I finally had my dream come true. I got enough money to buy an electric guitar (not one of those cheap crappy ones) and a pretty good ampliflier. I started to learn my favorite songs from bands such like Metallica and Guns 'n Roses. At first they were hard and I thought that Im not going to learn them ever, but after very hard trying, fingers almost burning from too much playing I finally made my first step to the real thing. I learned to play Enter sandman by Metallica. That gave me so much hope for that I really could learn and become at least a good guitarist. After a half a year I decided to buy a better effect for my guitar. So bye bye money and welcome new effect with all those great sounds and effects. At the christmas I got ANOTHER effect pedal from my parents. It was a wah-pedal ( I know you don't understand it makes guitar sound like a human saying: waaau waaah) I have been waited for that one effect for like almost a year and finally I got it. So here I am still playing alot and going on the lessons, next big step is coming within two weeks when I'm going to an entrance test for Vaskivuori's upper secondary school for the music line. I'm kind of stressed because there are over 200 canditates and only 33 are chosen. That's all about everything that I can tell you about how music is controlling my life.

I'm not expecting that you read that all but hey that's my life :)

Review for Metallica's album Death Magnetic

The front cover of the CD

This album is Metallica's tenth studio album and by that it's the latest one. If you haven't heard of Metallica, let me tell you a bit about them. Metallica was formed by James Hetfield (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Lars Ulrich (drums) in the late 1981. They were a garage band first but quickly they became very popular and famous. The members of the band are: Kirk Hammett (lead guitar, my personal idol), James Hetfield (vocals, rhythm guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums) and Robert Trujillo (bass). The bassist of the band has been changed after the original bassist Cliff Burton (a god of bass) died in an car accident when they were touring. Metallica almost broke, but they decided to continue and they searched for a new bassist, Jason Newsted, who after some years leaved the band. After Jason left they made auditions for a new bassist and thats when Robert Trujillo came to band. Now they are making tours and I heard some rumors that they are going to make a new album (I can't wait for that!). So now you know at least something about the band and I can continue making this review.

First of all I think that this is one of the best albums they have ever made and it is original Metallica style at it's best. The song list is here:
  1. "That Was Just Your Life" – 7:08
  2. "The End of the Line" – 7:52
  3. "Broken, Beat & Scarred" – 6:25
  4. "The Day That Never Comes" – 7:56
  5. "All Nightmare Long" – 7:58
  6. "Cyanide" – 6:40
  7. "The Unforgiven III" – 7:47
  8. "The Judas Kiss" – 8:01
  9. "Suicide & Redemption" (Instrumental) – 9:58
  10. "My Apocalypse" – 5:01
As you can see the songs are quite long, and that's what makes it Metallica. Metallica's second latest album St.Anger was criticized about the style that was away from Metallica's earlier styles, in example they had no guitar solos. They have had to notice that because Death Magnetic was like they came back to their roots and started again as the Metallica they were in the beginning. The lyrics on the album are quite interesting, some of them discuss about death and some discuss about being addicted to something. Also the lyrics are on some songs very fast and I keep thinking about how is it possible to James to sing so fast and play guitar at the same time.

In conclusion I say that it is one of the best albums ever made from one of the best bands ever. I'd rate it 5 out of 5 stars (Y)

And for the last words I say that here is one song from the album, it has lyrics on it so for fun try singing as fast
as James does :D (BTW this is my favorite song on the album it's called That was just your life) So enjoy!

Fever!

Today
i learned that fever is a pain in ass. Yesterday I woke up and my throat felt very bad and dry. I didn't care about it because I've had throat pains that disappeared after some time. So I go to school and as the day goes I felt sicker and sicker. I didn't want to go home, because then I wouldn't be able to go out with my friend, to who I promised to be with. So I had fun, although my state of being wasn't from the best side. And when I finally got to home at the evening, I felt very bad and I felt very weak and my legs kind of shake. So I checked my fever and it wasn't very much about 37.6 Celsius, I thought that I'll check my wealth at morning and decide am I going to school. When I woke up from my few  hours of sleep(it was hard to sleep because I felt so bad) I checked my fever again, because I were powerless and a bit dizzy. The meter showed DADAA! 38.7 Celsius. I were like DAMN I haven't had this bad fever in ages. So here I am writing this blog now feeling better (thanks to Burana).
So that's all folks see you soon :)

MineCraft

Okay this time I'll tell you about a game I'm really hooked to. The idea is that you spawn in a randomly generating world made out of 1x1m blocks with animals and other stuff. Basic idea is to mine minerals and craft things so you can use them to build, kill creatures and stuff. Oh did i forget to tell you that you'd better have an shelter before the night falls upon you, because when the sun is gone creatures like zombies and skeletons will come to roam around seeking innocent people like you. There are also creatures called creepers, I think that the only reason why they are in this game is because they're here to make your life living hell. First of all they explode when they get near you, first they keep "ssssshhhhh" sound for a while and then KABOOM! You are lucky if you survive from that or if your house is in one piece. So when you get the basics it is very addicting to build bigger houses or castles or whatever you can imagine. Best thing is that you can play it online with others so you can make things together and have your own little world living. I play it online with my friend Riku and my cousins Aaro & Severi :) Me and Riku like to build big scale models of various things in the game. Here is some of our works:
A giant creeper..SSSHHHHHH
This is called Ghast but in game it shoots fireballs so we made it more child friendly :D
Creeper(left) Chicken(middle) Pig(right)
Chicken that we just finished and the pig standing on the hill like a king :D
(Notice that little guy under the chicken..yeah that's Riku :D)
